October is
Domestic Violence Awareness Month
Domestic violence is an epidemic - impacting nearly 1 in 3 women, 1 in 4 men, and more than 1 in 2 trans folks nationwide, costing the U.S. over $8.3 billion annually. Everyone deserves a life free from abuse, and all survivors deserve accessible resources.
We are partnering with an award-winning nonprofit called Speak Your Truth Today (SYTT), whose mission is to amplify the voices of those impacted by domestic violence, providing education and resources which foster community, self-sufficiency, and overall well-being. SYTT facilitates one of the largest, gender-inclusive, domestic violence support groups on Facebook with over 18,000 survivors worldwide. On average, they empower three people each week to leave abusive relationships, and we can’t wait to support their mission!
This inclusive event is for everyone - at every skill level. You can run, walk, bike, swim, or row - commit to a marathon or a mile. Run The Globe isn’t about who can go the furthest or the fastest, but how far we can go together.
Our goals for October are to:
Collectively reach the globe's circumference - 40,075kms!
Raise $40,000 to help Speak Your Truth Today assist more people impacted by domestic violence.
